This project surrounds the subject of SBD8, a SoundCloud musician that aspires to portray his feelings in the form of alternative (emotional) hip hop music, the project was all about kickstarting and rebranding Dave in a way that provides his brand with longevity and consistency.
Dave Higgins was Born on 11/01/1996 in Nottingham, England originally and was an only child raised by his 2 parents. He started playing drums during secondary school starting at year 7 after one of the science teachers that he liked told Dave about a music club that he ran after school, It was around this time that he started listening to rap music, mostly fast aggressive rap such as Tech N9ne, Twisted Insane, Brotha Lynch Hung, etc. Dave began his music journey with rapping, the rapping started as a joke at first with humorous lines and disses thrown in at friends and instantly he realised that it wasn’t as bad sounding as he thought it would be. This was at the same time that Dave discovered the alternative or emotional rap sub-genre of music which consisted of primarily combining what he had already loved from rock and heavy metal music with the rap styles from commercially popular tracks surrounding the theme of sadness and feelings which connected with him on a much more personal level.
